Cold and board behaviour
- Board becomes more brittle — Folds and creases crack more readily when erected cold.
- Condensation on warming — Cartons brought from cold storage into a warm room collect moisture on the surface.
- Laminates stiffen — A gloss film is less flexible when cold, which matters on a hinge or a fold.
- Let stock acclimatise — The simplest fix: bring cartons to room temperature before erecting them.
