Custom Peptide Shipping Boxes

A shipping box is not a bigger version of a product box. Its job is to survive a journey it cannot control: sorting equipment, stacking, drops, temperature swings and handling by people who do not know what is inside.

We build the components — outer cartons, insulated mailers, thermal liners, dividers and gel-pack accommodation. What we do not do is tell you they will hold a temperature. That depends on your product, your route, your season and your coolant, and it has to be established by testing your actual configuration.

What we supply, and what we do not

This distinction matters more on this page than anywhere else on the site, so it is worth stating plainly before anything else.

  • We supplyCorrugated outer cartons, insulated mailers, thermal liners, dividers and partitions, gel-pack cavities, tamper-evident sealing options and printed handling markings.
  • We do not supplyCoolant, refrigerants, temperature monitors, or any product that goes inside the box.
  • We do not certifyAny temperature range, hold time or cold-chain duration. We do not issue transit test certification.
  • You are responsible forValidating the complete packed configuration for your product, your required temperature range, your duration, your route and your season.

We will make samples of any configuration you want to test, and we will change the specification based on what your testing shows. That is a genuinely useful loop, and it is more valuable than a number we could not stand behind.

Insulated mailer options

An insulated mailer is a corrugated shell with an insulating liner bonded or fitted inside it. The liner material is the main variable.

  • Expanded polystyrene (EPS) linerThe traditional option. Effective as an insulator, bulky, and difficult to recycle in most areas.
  • Polyurethane (PU) panel linerThinner than EPS for a similar insulating effect, so more internal space for the same outer size.
  • Paper-based insulated linerA moulded or padded paper structure. Recyclable with paper streams; insulating performance differs from foam and must be tested.
  • Foil-faced bubble linerA thin flexible liner that folds around the contents. Lowest cost and lowest bulk; also the least insulating.
  • Liner-free insulated boardCorrugated with an integrated insulating layer, giving a single-material shipper.

Outer carton specification

  • Single-wall B-fluteThe general-purpose transit board. Good crush resistance for its weight.
  • Single-wall C-fluteThicker flutes, better cushioning, slightly less stacking strength than B for the same weight.
  • Double-wall BCFor heavier loads or where cases are stacked several high.
  • E-fluteThin and printable; used for retail-facing shippers rather than pure transit.
  • Board gradeSpecified against the loaded weight and the stacking height, not chosen from a standard size.

Flute choice is the decision that most affects how a loaded case behaves, and the differences between E, B, C and BC are described in the board and flute reference.

Reducing vial movement in transit

Most transit damage to vials is not caused by a single dramatic impact. It is caused by thousands of small movements over hours of vibration.

  • Secondary packagingThe product box itself should already hold the vial. The shipper protects the box, not the vial directly.
  • Dividers and partitionsCorrugated cells keeping multiple product boxes from grinding against each other.
  • Void reductionA shipper sized to the load, so nothing has room to accelerate before it hits something.
  • Corner and edge protectionFolded corner pieces or a floating inner tray where the load is fragile.
  • Coolant separationA divider between the gel pack and the product box, so direct contact is controlled rather than accidental.

The single most effective change most shippers can make is reducing void, not adding cushioning. The principle is explained further in our note on packaging considerations for temperature-sensitive shipments.

Gel pack accommodation

If your configuration uses coolant, the box has to be designed around it from the start. Adding a gel pack to a box that was sized without one is how vials get crushed.

  • Dedicated coolant cavityA defined space for the gel pack so it cannot shift onto the product.
  • Coolant above or besidePosition affects how the pack behaves; your testing should determine which works for your route.
  • Condensation allowanceGel packs sweat. A moisture barrier or a coated inner surface stops the corrugated softening.
  • Weight allowanceCoolant is heavy. The board grade has to account for it, not just for the product.

Tamper-evident sealing options

  • Tamper-evident tapePrinted tape that shows a void message if lifted.
  • Security seal labelsApplied across the flap joint; destroyed on opening.
  • Perforated opening stripA tear line that cannot be resealed invisibly.
  • Numbered sealsSequentially numbered labels where chain-of-custody documentation is needed.

Whether tamper evidence is required for your shipments, and what form it must take, is a decision for you and your regulatory advisers. We supply the components.

Printed handling markings

  • Orientation arrowsIndicating which way up the box should travel.
  • Handling textContent you author, such as storage or handling instructions.
  • Clear label panelAn unprinted, matte area where carrier labels will adhere reliably.
  • Fragile and stacking marksStandard symbols where you determine they are appropriate.
  • Plain outerSome shippers deliberately keep the outside unbranded. We can supply completely plain cartons.

Whatever is printed on the outer, keep the carrier label area matte and flat — the reasoning is the same as for any applied-label zone.

Transit testing considerations

If you need documented performance, this is roughly what that involves — and why we are careful not to imply we can shortcut it.

  • Test the packed configurationNot the box alone. The product, the insert, the coolant and the outer together are what performs.
  • Test the routeDuration, handling and ambient conditions differ between carriers and lanes.
  • Test the seasonA configuration that works in spring may not in a summer trailer.
  • Use an accredited laboratoryWhere documented evidence is required, testing needs to be independent.
  • Re-test after changesAny change to the vial, insert, coolant or board invalidates earlier results.

Ordering shipping packaging

  • 1. Describe the loadWhat is inside, how many, and what it weighs when packed.
  • 2. Describe the journeyCarrier, typical duration, and whether coolant is used.
  • 3. SpecificationWe propose board grade, liner type, dividers and coolant accommodation.
  • 4. Samples for your testingWe produce samples in the configuration you want to test.
  • 5. Iterate, then produceYou test, we adjust, then the specification is fixed and produced.

Artwork guidance

  • Leave a clear matte panel for carrier labels — laminated or heavily printed areas can reject label adhesive.
  • Keep printing off the flap glue areas, where ink can interfere with taping.
  • On corrugated, avoid fine reversed type; flute structure shows through at small sizes.
  • If the outer is deliberately unbranded, say so explicitly — we will supply plain kraft.
  • Supply insert artwork as print-ready PDF with outlined type and 300 dpi links.

Quality control

  • Board grade is verified against the specification on receipt.
  • Assembled samples are loaded to the stated weight and checked for base and corner integrity.
  • Liner fit is checked so there are no gaps at the corners.
  • Coolant cavities are verified against the actual gel pack you will use.
  • Print registration and label panel finish are inspected.

Delivery

  • Corrugated shippers arrive flat and are erected during packing.
  • Liners are supplied cut or formed to the carton, packed separately.
  • Dividers and partitions arrive flat.

Peptide Shipping Boxes: questions we are asked

How long will your insulated mailer hold temperature?

We do not state a figure, and we would treat any supplier who does without seeing your configuration with caution. Hold time depends on your product mass, your coolant type and quantity, the ambient conditions on your route, the duration and the season. It has to be established by testing your actual packed configuration.

Can you certify the packaging for cold chain?

No. Documented cold-chain performance requires testing of the complete packed configuration, normally through an accredited laboratory. We supply the components and will make samples in whatever configuration you want tested.

Do you supply gel packs?

No. We design space for them and can advise on cavity geometry and condensation management, but coolant is sourced separately by you.

Which liner should I choose?

That depends on your testing. EPS and PU panels insulate more than a foil-faced bubble liner; paper-based liners recycle more easily but behave differently. We will supply samples of each so you can test them rather than choose from a description.

Why does void space matter so much?

Because empty space lets contents accelerate before they hit something. A box sized to its load, with dividers filling the remaining gaps, prevents more damage than adding cushioning to an oversized box.

Should the shipper be branded?

That is a business decision. Branded outers look professional; plain outers attract less attention in transit. Some customers use a plain outer with a branded box inside. We supply either.

What happens to the corrugated when a gel pack sweats?

Untreated corrugated softens as it absorbs moisture, losing compression strength. A moisture barrier, a coated inner surface or a liner that separates the coolant from the board all address it. This is worth planning rather than discovering.

Do I still need a product box inside the shipper?

Almost always. The shipper protects the product box; the product box and its insert hold the vial. Relying on a shipper alone to immobilise a vial is how glass gets damaged.

Can you make a shipper that fits our existing product boxes?

Yes, and that is the right way round. Send us the product boxes and we will design the shipper around the actual load rather than a nominal size.

Do you ship the peptides or handle the product?

No. Peptides Boxes supplies empty packaging components only. We never handle, store, fill or ship peptides, medications or vial contents.
